Joseph J. Przygoda

Joseph J. Przygoda, 89, of Du Bois departed this life on Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at 6:05 p.m. at the Washington County Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Przygoda was born at Tamaroa, IL on March 27, 1910 the son of John and Pelagia (Boczek) Przygoda. He was united in marriage to Helen Szczepanski on September 1, 1934 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom and she preceded him in death on November 20, 1970.
Mr. Przygoda was a retired farmer and was also a supervisor at the Hoben Candy Factory in Ashley for many years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom. He was a former member of the Holy Name Society of St. Michael. He was also a parish trustee and a member of St. Michael Society.
Left to mourn his passing is one son Jerry Przygoda of Radom; five daughters, Joann Kujawa and husband Stanley of Ashley; Rita Gajewski of Nashville, Connie Tomaszewski and husband Richard of Nashville, Mary Dreas and husband Dennis of Ashley and Margaret Przygoda of Du Bois; two sisters, Julia Preston and Clara Mclain both of Du Quoin; three sisters-in-law, Theresa, Mary and Veronica Przygoda; twelve grandchildren, Kathy Kujawa, Dennis Kujawa and wife Shauna, Janet Keller, Gail Moore and husband Tom, Kurt Gajewski and wife Carol, Teri Horsley and husband Michael, Steven Tomaszewski, Geri Snead and husband Doug, Jennifer Miller and husband Jeremy, Joey Przygoda and Aaron and Chris Dreas; eight great-grandchildren Josh, Jordan and Nellie Snead, Morjan, Nathan and Carmen Keller, Ian and Garret Moore and Andrew Gajewski; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, seven brothers and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, March 18, 2000 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Hibner officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Friends were able to call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The Rosary was prayed at 8:15 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Michael School or Church.
